

The joint research programme TAP (Taiwan as a Pioneer) examines the institutional frameworks, conditions and social actors that have enabled Taiwan to assume such a pioneering role. The programme is designed and implemented by post-doctoral researchers from political science, sociology, literature and history. The main objective of this project in Bochum is to explore innovative actions and changes in Taiwan's technological and vocational education and training system during the modernisation process of Taiwan in the last century, through in-depth observations of the development of the printing industry and medical revolutions.
The German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has awarded a grant to four post-doc researchers to conduct the joint research program TAP (Taiwan as a Pioneer) for a duration of four years from 2022-2026.
